After Hearing the Immortal Venerable's Thoughts, I Abandoned Him

That day in the secret realm, the love-bound spell went out of control, and he lost his reason and took me by force.

In front of everyone, he agreed to become my bonded partner. I thought my century-long, humble crush had finally borne fruit.

Then, one day, I accidentally heard his thoughts.

[This wicked disciple went to such lengths to trigger the love-bound spell, resorting to every means to force me into a bond. How despicable.]

[If not for the sect's reputation, why would I put up with this kind of coercion? Just seeing his face makes me sick.]

I had never known that becoming his Dao companion would humiliate him so much.

But when I stopped being his obedient disciple, severed my spiritual roots, and became mortal, he came looking for me with red-rimmed eyes.

"You once swore that you would prove the Great Dao with me and stay by my side forever. Why would you rather sever your bones and cleanse your marrow, becoming a short-lived mortal?"
