Lu Xingzai had everything: a comfortable family, loving parents, and his younger sister... They were, more or less, on good terms as siblings.
Shi Feng was his uncle's son, the complete opposite of them. Ever since he was little, Lu Xingzai had never thought much of his uncle's family.
Then one day, his aunt mysteriously disappeared, and his uncle fell into ruin. His elderly grandmother took Shi Feng by the hand, knelt before their family, and begged Lu Xingzai's mother to take him in, for the boy at least shared her surname.
From then on, his silent cousin lived in their house. Lu Xingzai's loving parents began quarreling frequently over this outsider, and his little family slowly started to fall apart.
Then, at last, it really did.
The upheaval at home caused him to do poorly on the college entrance exam. Lu Xingzai gave up on school early, while Shi Feng passed the exam and left, first to study in Beijing, then abroad on a scholarship.
For many years, Lu Xingzai heard nothing from him. Like his mother, Shi Feng had eagerly cast off this family.
But as his grandmother grew older, the only person she ever thought about was this grandson. At her bedside, Lu Xingzai reluctantly promised to get in touch with the heartless wretch who had vanished fourteen years ago.

Not biologically related, older gong (but only a small age gap), family drama, lovers reunited after a breakup
The three generations of women have major roles, including some deeply unhealthy, twisted mother-daughter relationships across generations. The men are caught up in love, while the women fight brutal battles in their lives.
