Every time Bai Xingyuan completes a task issued by the System, a plump, juicy peach lights up in his mind. Once enough peaches glow like light bulbs, he can recover a lost memory and return to where it all began as the memory comes back.
Over the years, he travels farther and farther along the roads of desertion, fleeing marriage, skipping school, and running for his life...
From a general admired by all to a wartime deserter who betrays his country, he successfully lights up one [Flat Peach];
From a gentle yet stern, respectful and composed senior brother in white to a criminal who nearly destroys his sect and harms his master, he successfully plucks one [White Peach];
From a faithful Alpha fiancé to a two-timing liar who flees on his wedding day, he successfully obtains one [Yellow Peach];
From an impoverished student with excellent grades and conduct to a secret lover who abandons his studies and becomes obsessed with money and power, he successfully activates one [Honey Peach]...
Thanks to the System, Bai Xingyuan gets to taste all kinds of peaches: bitter and sweet, some forced upon him and some freely embraced. Gradually, in these worlds where the line between truth and falsehood blurs, he also starts to lose track of whether his feelings are sincere or feigned.
A row of peaches appears one after another in the attribute panel named Bai Xingyuan inside the System. They look like pulsing hearts, giving off an enticing fragrance and dripping with juice that seems sweet.
Crunch, crunch...
Bai Xingyuan looks up and sees someone eating a peach. A huge one is held in their hands, juice running from the eater's mouth. Noticing his gaze, the person assumes he wants one too and casually hands him a peach fragrant with fruit.
“Want one?”
“Thanks, you have it. I don't like peaches.”
Bai Xingyuan says with a smile as he flees and wanders.
He's tasted something far sweeter and more delicious than any fruit: the flavor of other people's love, hatred, and desire all tangled together.
So Bai Xingyuan has to flee as far away as he can, if he wants even a sliver of a chance to survive the other people's overwhelming fury and crazed vengeance.
A few cautions:
1. The protagonist is handsome. Each small world has one destined gong, while the other characters are more or less fond of the protagonist (underline), though the plot may also turn fans into haters.
2. All the episodic stories are extremely melodramatic and clichéd. The basic cycle is: he loves him, he betrays him, he runs, and the other chases him, with forced situations and similar elements.
3. The gong is not split into fragments. The worldlines will converge in the final world, and the ending is tentatively open.
