"He's frivolous, cold, and materialistic.
Yet he's an unparalleled beauty, the only one of his kind."
Five years ago, the Blissful Star cruise ship exploded, and the eldest son of the Zhou family died in international waters.
Five years later, on the night of Hangshen Group's listing banquet, just before executive assistant Chu Xiangyi is due to give a speech, someone pins him against the mirror in the dressing room and brutally crushes his cold, indifferent lips.
The young man in the mirror is still as beautiful as he was five years ago, dazzling enough to leave anyone spellbound. Zhou Shaoan grips his slender, icy neck, hatred and satisfaction mingling in his eyes like flames.
"It's been five years. Did you miss me?"
"...You've gone mad."
Zhou Shaoan smiles softly.
Chu Xiangyi, are you ready to face this mad Zhou Shaoan?
-
"Chu Xiangyi's lost his mind. That was the work of ten years! He spent all these years navigating between the Zhou and Chu families and keeping Hangshen afloat, just to hand it over to Zhou Shaoan?"
"Didn't they have a one-year agreement? I heard Zhou Shaoan would never see him again after it expired. Is that why?"
"Does he think Zhou Shaoan will forgive him and reconcile if he does this?"
"Does he really love him that much? Then why did he..."
When the year was up, Chu Xiangyi picked a pleasant day, packed his things, and erased every trace he'd left behind over the past year. After one last look at the spotless room, he gently closed the door.

You might not believe me, but I never stopped loving you for even a moment.
A survivor who hid his pain for years, intent on tormenting the one he loves to death, a snarling dog full of resentment x A wretched, ill-fated man from a poor background who keeps selling himself short and doesn't have long to live
(A trashy, utterly earthy, misunderstandings-and-death-faking melodrama about love and hate)
Theme: Love is a lifesaving cure
