The Wild Swans

Tu Ran is solitary and cold, with no parents and no expectations of making it through tomorrow. He's used to living one day at a time.

After an accident, he happened to save a student, and from then on, a little shadow stuck to him.

The little shadow was named Qu Ning. He kept hovering around Tu Ran, calling him “Big Brother” all day long. He followed him into an underground boxing ring and boldly declared:

“Big Brother, let's rely on each other!”

Tu Ran, a bruise at the corner of his mouth, jumped down from the boxing ring and quietly took a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. “Young Master.”

Qu Ning just smiled, his expression bright and open. “Big Brother, I live at the orphanage next door.”

Tu Ran accepted the little shadow as his younger brother.

Tu Ran began relying on Qu Ning, and Qu Ning on him.

While Qu Ning was still in school, Tu Ran supported him with money he had earned at the risk of his life.

Qu Ning was starting his second year of high school and needed school supplies. They had agreed over the phone that Tu Ran would take him shopping today. Tu Ran waited alone in a secondhand bookstore until nightfall, only to receive the news that his little brother had died.

.

Tu Ran went to the hospital to claim the body.

Qu Ning was dead. Before he died, he had received an invitation.

That night, clutching the gold-embossed invitation, Tu Ran went alone with a knife and smashed up a gathering of extravagant high society families in the capital.

A mayfly challenging a tree, a blade of grass breaking into the game of the upper class.
