My Husband and Son Are Monsters

He Zhu is twenty-five, has been married for seven years, and lives a peaceful, happy life. Then one day, he discovers a secret.

He married a nonhuman and gave birth to a little monster.

He decides he does not want his husband anymore.

He does not want his son, either.

-

"Mom is divorcing you."

"Mom doesn't want me anymore, either."

Seven-year-old Jin Li sits with his hands on his knees, posture perfectly straight, his voice flat.

As though he had known this would happen all along.

Jin Yaochuan says nothing.

"Did he take you to kindergarten today?"

"He did."

Jin Li cannot help adding, clearly bothered, "But Mom didn't kiss me today."

"Why should my wife kiss you?"

"Then, Dad, did Mom kiss you?"

"..."

No. He Zhu did not kiss him. In fact, he begged that he never have to see him again.

Jin Yaochuan had nodded in agreement at the time.

But how could he let that happen?

The man sits there, perfectly calm, while the shadows beneath his feet churn wildly and spread outward. The darkness grows thicker and heavier, flowing along the floor and creeping up the walls, winding its way into the bedroom.

It draws closer.

Tentacles emerge from the black mist...

Softly, gently, they wrap around and choke his precious beloved wife.
