Incurable.
*
My history with Zhou Yan goes back five years.
Strictly speaking, it wasn't really a feud. I was the only one tormenting him, forcing him to be with me while grinding his dignity to dust.
In public, I was his unruly tutoring student. When we were alone, I was the one in control.
After one of our countless intimate encounters, Zhou Yan rasped out a question: When would I finally be done playing with him?
I almost laughed.
He knew me so poorly. When I liked something, it either belonged to me forever, or I destroyed it. No one else would ever get it.
But I didn't tell him. I just smiled with delight, tightened my hand around his neck, and said, "You'll be free when I stop loving you."
In fact, not only did I refuse to let him go, I pushed him into the abyss.
So what if I ruined him? I thought indifferently. He'd better hate me day and night, wish he could kill me, wish he could tear me to pieces.
Best of all, he should remember me forever.
I thought we'd never meet again in this life. But perhaps even Heaven couldn't stand someone as wicked as me. It made me pay for my sins.
I had nothing left, and then I ran into Zhou Yan at my most wretched.
I knelt before him, humbling myself as I never had before.
"Zhou Yan, help me."
He said nothing, only looked at me coldly, as if he didn't know me at all.
After a long while, he called my name: Xiang Yan. His expression seemed to say, So even you've come to this.
I knew my sins were beyond measure, and he was the one who would punish me.
