The first time Inez ended up in jail, she thought she'd panic.
Her employer was not someone to mess with. She gave him an answer he didn't want to hear, and he promptly reported her.
By the tenth time, Inez was completely relaxed.
This employer was a real piece of work, and she lied without a hint of shame.
Too bad he saw through her.
She carefully made a note of what to remember: next time, make the lie more convincing.
From the West Coast to the East Coast, she had more wanted posters than travel photos.
At last, she arrived in Bludhaven.
"Hello?"
The black-haired, blue-eyed officer smiled at her.
"One moment, officer."
Inez found a good angle, posed with the Bludhaven Police Department sign in the background, and smiled at her phone. "This is my first time in jail!"
As he tapped through her case file, Dick couldn't help raising an eyebrow at the sheer number of cases listed. "First time?"
"That's right." Inez flashed a big smile. "In Bludhaven."
Seeing Dick's conflicted expression, she held one finger to her lips and shushed him. "I know, this is also my first day in Bludhaven."
"Then welcome to Bludhaven." Dick watched her intently. "Would you like to talk to me about this incident?"
Inez sensed the souls around them and, sure no one else was nearby, leaned toward Dick and whispered, "No. I want to talk to Nightwing about what's been happening in Bludhaven lately."
A lighthearted, sweet little story. Dick is the love interest.
