Wei Jia, male, twenty-four. Formerly a General Who Pacifies the West, he was revered as a god of war by many commoners, and some even said he was the reincarnation of the Martial Star.
Yet even he had things he didn't want to face.
The first was when his gravely ill father summoned him to the border at fourteen to take command of the northwestern army.
He didn't want to go, but he had no choice. His mother brought out a whip.
The second happened yesterday.
He returned to the capital in triumph and reunited with his childhood friend Yuwen Ye, now emperor, after years apart. They drank and talked about everything under the sun, and somehow wound up in bed together!
He hadn't figured out how to face Yuwen Ye, so he decided not to face him at all.
Then some kind of monster showed up claiming to be a System... The thing was highly suspicious, but its promise of high-yield grain seeds was too tempting. Wei Jia had no choice but to go see Yuwen Ye.
?
What do you mean, you've had a crush on me for years? Aren't we just good brothers?
Yuwen Ye was born into the body of a prince.
He wasn't interested in the throne and just wanted to live a carefree life.
His adoptive emperor father found him a companion, a boy named Wei Jia.
Unlike those mischievous, self-important kids, Wei Jia was precocious without being pretentious, and adorable.
They also shared one dream: to coast through life.
They soon became friends.
At thirteen, Yuwen Ye had a wet dream, and the person in it was Wei Jia.
When he woke up, he slapped himself first. He'd watched Wei Jia grow up. He was worse than an animal!
Before he could figure out how to slowly lure Wei Jia into the pot like a frog, Wei Jia left for the northwest, and Yuwen Ye rarely got to see him again.
Ten years flew by in the blink of an eye. After being emperor for a few years, he'd become even more shameless.
He prepared a jug of spiked wine. He was going to make his wish come true.
Reading Notes:
1. The gong is very cute.
2. It's probably a slow-on-the-uptake, adorable god-of-war general gong and a scheming, devoted-dog emperor shou. Childhood friends to lovers.
3. Although this is set in ancient times, the writing style isn't old-fashioned. The setting is very loosely based on history, so don't expect historical accuracy. The political maneuvering is kindergarten-level. The plot serves the romance.
4. If it's not for you, please just leave without telling me. Thanks for reading and for your support.
Theme: Try to make the world a little happier~
A very coquettish little Jiabao 🙏 🙏
