Nini's friend is a swift.
During the hot summer, Nini stayed cooped up in her room and talked to the swift outside her window every day.
"Swift, swift, is it hot outside?"
"Swift, swift, what did you eat today?"
"Swift, swift, why are you wearing such thick black clothes?"
As August approached, the swift had to leave.
Nini was very sad.
But the swift said, "Nini, Nini, I'll come back next spring. Wait for me, and I'll tell you all about what I saw along the way."
Nini watched the swift fly away. She waited for her swallow friend to return. The next spring, the swift would come find her...
