The old city was being demolished, its deserted alleys silent, with only an old house wrapped in green vines standing alone. A faint piano sounded at midnight, shadows flickered by the windows, and the house was notorious in the area as a haunted mansion.

The homeowner stayed hidden from beginning to end, never showing his face. In the silent house, he quietly set warm water and soft bread on the empty table, leaving Gu Xun to wait out the rain.
The rain eased, but the owner still did not appear. Gu Xun left, carrying with him a heart full of longing.
The next day, he came back. At last, the owner of the old house appeared. Gu Xun brought a pot of fine ink orchid as a gift and asked to rent a guest room...
