Cang Yun's very first sword strike after descending the mountain dazzled the demon lord Xie Chi.
Not because her swordsmanship was peerless, but because her sword had snapped.
The number one sword in the world, the Cang Yun Sword? Fake. A swordsmanship prodigy? Just putting on an act.
Her master's final parting words had been: “The martial world is dangerous. As long as you run fast enough, you can live long enough.” So she hoisted the badly wounded Xie Chi onto her back and ran, covering eighteen thousand li without breaking a sweat.
Bounced around until he questioned his life, Xie Chi asked, “May I ask which sect you hail from, miss?”
“The Running Sect.”
Three other oddballs joined them: a violent miracle doctor who kept saying “I wouldn't dare” while setting off bags of explosives like fireworks; a lazy fortune-teller who clutched three copper coins all day and muttered, “It's inauspicious to go out today”; and a laid-back swordsman who refused to act until the whole team was wiped out.
In a nutshell: A tsundere, jealous king falls in love at first sight with a girl of monstrous strength; a sweet, lovable miracle doctor bravely pursues love and fiercely protects her man. The whole crew are sneaky, the romance is sweet and satisfying, and they take down scumbags while tearing away the respectable sects' fig leaf.
Note: The story spends relatively little time on the main characters' romance, focusing more on the events.
Theme: My fate is mine to decide, not Heaven's.
