Ji Shuxing was a rich young master who was cannon fodder in the early chapters of an urban cultivation novel.
He just didn't know it.
So he was arrogant and willful, and forced the still-growing Xie Randu, the novel's destined hero, to become his lackey. He made him do his homework, run errands, and handle all kinds of odd jobs.
He also loved humiliating him with money.
Xie Randu scratched the paint on Ji Shuxing's supercar.
He said with pride, “I'll pay you back.”
The young master sneered. “Can a poor kid admitted through a special program afford that? You could work your whole life and still not afford one tire. I don't want this junker anymore. Take it.”
Xie Randu was rushing around to pay his sister's medical bills and arrived late to pick someone up.
The young master was displeased. After learning why, he asked contemptuously, “How much are you short?”
Xie Randu swallowed his humiliation. “Four million three hundred thousand.”
Ji Shuxing casually transferred five million. “Keep the extra change as a tip. Be late again and you'll regret it.”
At a banquet, Xie Randu was framed for stealing and publicly condemned by everyone.
The young master sauntered over, raised an eyebrow at the scene, and mocked him. “You'd stoop to stealing a gemstone ring like this?”
Xie Randu held back his anger. “I didn't steal it.”
The young master shrugged, clearly unconvinced. He took off the watch worth tens of millions on his wrist and tossed it to Xie Randu. “Take it. Raise your standards, and stop embarrassing yourself.”
Lu Yanshu was a player with a System. His target was Xie Randu, the protagonist of The Immortal Venerable Descends.
Early in the story, the protagonist was supposed to lose the sister he depended on because he was short on money, miss his chance to buy a damaged immortal artifact at auction, and lose out on a spiritual spring dimension.
After enduring countless hardships, he would become cold, suspicious, and ruthless.
But the plot went off the rails. The protagonist's sister was saved, he bought the damaged immortal artifact, and he even got the spiritual spring dimension.
This left Lu Yanshu without several key opportunities to approach him.
Wasn't Xie Randu supposed to be dirt poor early on? Where had all this money come from?
Then one day, Xie Randu angered the cannon-fodder young master and got wine thrown all over him.
Wine dripped from his damp hair tips, staining his school uniform red and leaving him in a miserable state.
Lu Yanshu thought his chance had finally come and immediately protested with righteous indignation. “He's gone too far! How can he humiliate you like that? I'll go talk to him right now!”
Xie Randu raised his eyes and looked at him coldly.
“I suggest you mind your own business.”
