Fujian stone lion, Linhu Dongpu. The salty sea breeze eroded the lonely shabby stone house on the coastline year after year. Here lives a pair of silent brothers and sisters: Qiu Zhi and Qiu Shuangnu.
Their family has guarded this sea area known as the "Bone Reef" for generations. It is said that there are countless ghosts of ancient "sends" buried under the water. Among them, the one that fishermen fear the most is a ghost wearing a red wedding dress and a high bun - the bun lady. According to legend, she was the "bride" who was betrayed by her family and lover a hundred years ago. On her wedding day, she was nailed alive into a coffin and sank into the sea. The resentment persisted, and every foggy night or new moon, she would comb her hair on the rocks, looking for a substitute to complete the unfinished wedding.
Qiu Zhi always thought that this was just a rural legend to scare children, until his sister Qiu Shuangnu began to sleepwalk towards the seaside one night when the fog was thick, mumbling and repeating ancient wedding songs. What's even weirder is that the appearance of Qiu Shuangnuo's girls actually becomes similar to the woman in ancient costume on a broken portrait in the ancestral hall day by day in her dream...
In order to save his sister, Qiu Zhi had to dive into the family's taboo past and the treacherous "Sunken Marriage Beach" under the coastline. He discovered that his family's bloodline had long been tied to the resentment of the bun lady. And this year is another period of "reincarnation", and the bun lady needs a fresh body to "come ashore". The one she chose was Qiu Shuangnu.
Thick fog locked the sea, red candles burned spontaneously, and ancient joy resounded in the empty stone house. Before the "ghost marriage" is completed, Qiu Zhi must find the real way to break the century-old curse among the broken family records, the humid barcarolle and the endless sound of the bun lady combing her hair. The only clue in his hand was a piece of paper wedding dress soaked in the tide found in a crack in the wall of an old house, and a vague mantra on it:
"Don't comb your hair facing the sea, and don't let your wedding clothes get dusty. If you see a lady with a bun smiling, she's already in the coffin."
