I Really Want to Be Lord Yang Jian's Dog

In her previous life, Fu Bai was obsessed with fluffy things. In this life, she became one.

A little fox ball living in a land rife with powerful demons: just how miserable could life get? Before long, her whole family was wiped out. After the demons finished eating everyone in her family register, they came for her too. And she was only a weak, pitiful little fox who hadn't even learned how to take human form.

Luckily, Heaven's demon-slaying forces arrived just in time, and the demons were all slaughtered.

But now the gods, carried away by the bloodlust, were going to kill her too!

A weak fox's cries wouldn't reach the gods' ears. With her life on the line, she had no choice but to desperately claim a connection to someone powerful.

“D-don't kill me! I know Erlang Shen!”

The murderous god clearly didn't believe her. With a scornful laugh, he asked, “Yang Jian knows a little fox like you? Who are you to him?”

“I'm Master Yang Jian's dog!”

Her words echoed through the empty valley and lingered among the trees. The whole place fell silent.

One day, Yang Jian received a secret message from Nezha through a thousand-mile telepathic link, saying he'd found Yang Jian's dog while out and about.

Yang Jian checked that Xiaotian Quan was safely curled up beside him.

Yang Jian: Thanks, but I haven't gotten a new dog.

Yang Jian, after arriving at the scene: ...Right, this one is mine too. How did you know I had another one?

Notes:

1. This is a shameless indulgence in my personal tastes. I'm in the grip of dog fever, and that particular attribute is turned up to the max. It's pretty vulgar, so enter with caution.

2. Yang Jian's personality is my own interpretation, and he's very much the master type.

3. Love at first sight. The male lead will do whatever it takes to make the heroine his wife, while the heroine only wants to be his dog (...). She's a timid, soft-hearted girl with no big ambitions, not a strong female lead.

4. The story is mainly set against the backdrop of Journey to the West, with elements borrowed from other mythologies. It doesn't follow the original source material very closely and is purely a slice-of-life romance.

Theme: Have the courage to face your true self.
