Miss Mayfly’s First Summer

·

Miss Mayfly has only one day to live, but she has all the gifts of summer: dewdrops on lotus leaves, the songs of frogs and cicadas, the scent of melons, the faint glow of fireflies...

When the sunset turns the pond red, she settles on the water's surface. Ripples spread in rings, hiding the taste of summer in their wake, and she falls asleep in peace.
