By chance, Ying Buran runs into her ex-boyfriend, Kuang Ye, whom she hasn’t seen in eight years.
She thought that chapter of her past had long since been forgotten.
But when they meet for the first time after their chance reunion, Kuang Ye is cold, sarcastic, and cutting.
Ying Buran knows she was in the wrong for breaking up with him so abruptly, so she doesn’t hold it against him. After all, they won’t have anything to do with each other again.
But one day, Kuang Ye turns out to be the big boss visiting Ying Buran’s company to inspect a potential investment.
The kind of boss who outranks her own boss by several levels.
Ying Buran assumes it’s just a coincidence and calmly pretends she doesn’t know Kuang Ye.
Fortunately, he only addresses her coldly and distantly as “Team Leader Ying,” never giving her another glance.
But before long, Kuang Ye, who’s always been cold and stern, goes inexplicably crazy and corners Ying Buran in an elevator.
In the cramped space, Kuang Ye looks at her casually and asks, “Is there nothing you want to say to me?”
Ying Buran can’t read his mind, so she puts on her most polished smile and acts strictly professional. “Are you satisfied with this investment inspection, Mr. Kuang?”
Kuang Ye glances at her, his expression unreadable. “There were things I was satisfied with, and things I wasn’t.”
Ying Buran says nothing.
When she doesn’t respond, Kuang Ye’s lips curl into a mocking smile. “I hear you’ve been going at it with your nemesis lately. Whoever performs worse in this round of financing gets kicked out of the company, right?”
As he speaks, a playful glint shows unmistakably in his eyes.
“Ying Buran, take a guess. Who will I help: the ex-girlfriend who threw me away like a dog, or her nemesis?”
“...”
Ying Buran finally understands. Running into Kuang Ye wasn’t a coincidence at all. It was pure revenge.
But as the days pass, she waits and waits, only to unexpectedly get a promotion and a raise. Kuang Ye’s revenge never comes.
Just as Ying Buran starts thinking everything has finally calmed down, Kuang Ye somehow hears that she’s going to Switzerland and won’t be coming back.
In the bleak winter wind, Ying Buran and Kuang Ye have their second falling-out.
But early the next morning...
Kuang Ye: “Marry me.”
Ying Buran: “?”
Kuang Ye: “I’m getting revenge on you.”
Ying Buran: “...”
#They say marriage is the greatest grave of all. So my greatest revenge would be to ask you to join me in a marriage pact, and spend our lives together, sharing both joy and hardship.
#Only after Ying Buran enters the “grave” of marriage does she discover that her and Kuang Ye’s grave is filled with flowers, and that every year passes in peace.
