Lin Renying is a defective Omega with no pheromones. He can't smell an Alpha's scent or soothe anyone during their rut.

Chen Shisheng, the top Alpha in S City, was a favored son of heaven, aloof and cold. His pheromone concentration was so high that everyone submitted to him.

At their first meeting, Chen Shisheng was set up and went into rut. Only Lin Renying could get close enough to soothe him. He assumed this Omega was another one trying to climb the social ladder, but then he noticed that the Omega only smiled at a certain Beta, while treating him with polite distance.

But he was best at being patient. In front of Lin Renying, he pretended to be a perfect gentleman, disguising restraint as gentle attentiveness, while watching Lin Renying cry and suffer over Zhuang Pei.

After graduation, Zhuang Pei needed to curry favor with Chen Shisheng for the sake of his future. Rumor had it that the young heir was capricious, but doted on the Omega hidden away at home. But when Zhuang Pei went to great lengths to meet that Omega, his heart skipped a beat.

The frail Omega from the past had been nurtured into a stunning beauty. The burden who used to follow him around and whom he couldn't shake off was now someone he could barely hope to see.

When they met, there was no admiration in Lin Renying's eyes, only indifference. "Mr. Zhuang, you were right. I should be with an Alpha after all."

Zhuang Pei froze in place. He couldn't believe that Lin Renying, who had once been completely devoted to him, could love someone else. The overwhelming sense of loss and resentment grew within him. He frantically called, hoping to win Lin Renying back, but the person who answered was biting the Omega's delicate gland.
