The Farmhouse Boy Raised as a Husband (Women Rule)

When Manzhu was five, disaster struck his family. Everyone treated him like a burden, shoving him from one relative to another. None of his aunts wanted to raise him, and he was about to be sold to a trafficker when Father Lin took pity on him and brought him home as a child husband.

Lin Daiqing never expected her father to go out and come back with a little boy.

That was the first time she saw Manzhu. His face was covered in mud. She bent down, took his little hand, and gave him a piece of candy.

From then on, Manzhu lived with the Lin family.

The Lin family was upright and respectable. Father Lin treated Manzhu like his own son, and Lin Daiqing cared for him deeply, teaching him to read and write herself.

Manzhu grew up sweet-natured and became more and more beautiful.

One day, while chatting with villagers, a pregnant husband with a round belly asked Manzhu when he planned to have a child.

Manzhu's head was spinning. Only then did he learn that getting married meant having a baby. By his calculations, he'd been married to Lin Daiqing for ten years, yet there had been no sign of a child.

That night, he nestled against Lin Daiqing's chest. His dark eyes shining, he asked softly when he would be able to have a baby, too.

Lin Daiqing brushed the crumbs from the corner of his mouth. With a smile in her eyes, she said he'd have to wait another two years.

Two years later, Manzhu turned seventeen, and Lin Daiqing passed the provincial exam as the top candidate. With Father Lin as witness, the two held a formal wedding and became wife and husband.

The boy she'd raised was spoiled and beautiful. Even the way he addressed her changed from elder sister to wife-lord.

The year after their wedding, Lin Daiqing was named the top scholar by imperial decree, and Manzhu became pregnant.

Looking back, from the moment Manzhu became her child husband, Lin Daiqing had been determined to give her young husband a good life.

After years of studying hard, it turned out she'd done just that.
