#A chatty, timid Beagle gong x a wild, untamed cool-guy shou
After I transmigrated into a book, the first time I carried out a heinous mission as instructed, it ended in total failure. My companions were killed in their sleep by the righteous, arrogant hero. As for me, because of the special clothes I was wearing, I was kept alive as a hostage.
The hero was surrounded.
He took me hostage and hid in a pitch-dark cave. Stagnant water, waist-high, filled the lower part of the cave, while a rock at the top could barely fit two people.
I felt wronged, miserable, and like crying.
“Do the mosquitoes here carry diseases? Am I going to get sick?”
“I have a phobia of deep lakes. What if there are clumps of water snakes in there? That's so scary!” I cried out, shrinking inward so hard I nearly shoved the badly injured hero off the rock.
I knew I was annoying him, but he didn't yell at me. Afraid I might die, he even took off one of the few clothes he had and gave it to me to keep warm. The hero was already incredibly handsome, with a slim waist, broad shoulders, and extraordinary skill. As it turned out, he was also a man of fine moral character. I felt ashamed on behalf of everyone in the organization who had ever insulted me.
But he was still a little naive. He didn't know that my organization was famous for being a “den of silver” within ten miles. We just happened to specialize in researchers who studied the human body, like me. My unusual clothes didn't mean I was some big shot. There was no way he could escape with me in tow.
All he could do was hope his superior would send someone to rescue him.
But two full days passed without a word, and it was my big brother who arrived first.
I ran to my big brother and closed my eyes, basking in the feeling of him patting my head. He doted on me, too. Turning to everyone around him, he announced solemnly, “I told you Wei Xian wasn't useless!”
...Calling me not useless was a bit much. I opened my eyes, feeling unworthy of the praise, just in time to see several men pinning the hero's arms behind his back and slapping him with a laugh.
The hero was already badly injured, but they still didn't trust him. They injected him with a muscle relaxant, leaving him completely unable to walk. He could only be dragged along, his broken lower leg scraping across the ground and leaving a trail of blood. It looked so painful.
I narrowed my eyes and frowned, meeting the hero's gaze. Then he lowered his eyes.

My organization might be a den of silver, but it was a good one. That sounds strange, but to sum it up, my organization didn't kill people. We only wanted money.
My big brother hoped the hero's direct superior would pay to ransom him.
“If you put yourself in someone else's shoes, if you were captured, I'd do whatever it took to get you back,” my big brother said, feeding me as he shared his thoughts.
I was touched, but I couldn't free my tongue, so I could only mumble incoherently. My big brother patted my head with an exasperated laugh.
For the sake of his ransom plan, my big brother had the hero whipped, hoping he'd loosen his lips. All he got in reply was, “Don't waste your effort.” He sent the hero's superior photos of him covered in wounds, only to be left on read.
My big brother got a little angry and escalated the whipping to electric shocks. The hero spat in his face, while his superior continued to give him the cold shoulder.
My big brother got even angrier. He used drugs on the hero, determined to record a video of him begging for mercy and send it to his superior. But somehow, the hero broke free of his restraints and nearly kicked my big brother's balls off.
With tears in my eyes, I went to visit my big brother, who was recovering in a hospital bed.
He grabbed my hand and coughed weakly. “I've given you the authority to deal with him.”
Given to me? Me?!
But all I knew how to do was conduct a few erotic experiments. I had no idea how to torture people!
My big brother comforted me, shocked as I was. “Don't worry. Just do what you usually do.”
As I left the room, I heard people whispering. They all said my big brother had become a pervert because of that kick, since he'd never be able to perform again. Now he wanted to corrupt the hero, too.
I was furious. On one hand, I chased after them to explain that my big brother could still perform, and even if he couldn't, I could still make him happy. On the other, I was hurt that they thought so little of my work.
Wasn't my work sacred?
Wasn't it wonderful to experience pleasure to the fullest?
They couldn't understand, but I thought the hero would.
However, when they pushed the hero, bound so tightly he couldn't move a finger, into my lab, even his usually untamed gaze held a trace of fear. He looked at the instruments in my hand and threatened hoarsely, “Don't touch me. Stay away.”
But he was tied up so tightly and had been injected with drugs, so even I could do whatever I wanted to him.
The hero lowered his head, his voice a terrifying murmur rising from his throat. “I'll kill you.”
I wiped away his cold sweat, then checked the readings on the instrument panel. I couldn't help laughing like a child who'd just gotten candy. “Your body has so much potential.”

A month later, the hero's superior finally responded.
He proposed an in-person exchange and offered ten million gold coins to ransom the hero.
Someone passing by said, “Why didn't he just do that from the start?” It did seem that simple, but I didn't feel that way. During all the time I'd spent with the hero in the lab, we had actually had a lot of fun.
I talked too much, and everyone in the organization thought I was annoying. They'd tell me to shut up before I'd even finished half a sentence. But the hero never did... Of course, perhaps that was because his mouth was often stuffed, so he couldn't talk.
Anyway, I felt like we'd grown a little closer, except for the time the machine malfunctioned...
I sat cross-legged beside the hero, who couldn't move at all. His eyes were covered.
As I changed the clothes of the hero, who was drenched in sweat and dehydrated, I rambled on about what I thought. “I thought your superior had abandoned you. I thought that was so pitiful. You came on such a dangerous mission for his sake, didn't you? I'm glad I was wrong.”
The hero let out a damp-sounding hum from his nose, weakly. Maybe the aftereffects of the drugs were still affecting him, because his body began to tremble. Generously, I lent him my shoulder and let him rest against it for a while.
The hero's hot breath fell against my neck, reminding me of my big brother. “Looks like you have a great superior, just like my big brother. My big brother really is wonderful. I was supposed to go to the exchange this time, but... I'm actually a little afraid of your superior, so my big brother went in my place.”
At the mention of my big brother, the hero's steady breathing grew ragged. He must still have been exhausted, but he struggled to get away from me.
How strange. But I couldn't be bothered to ask. My big brother was about to leave, and I had to see him off.
That was the last time I saw my big brother.
The so-called exchange had been a complete scam. My big brother was blown to pieces, and not even a single finger could be found.

I returned to the lab in a daze, bringing with me the news that the hero would be executed the next day.
But he still showed no strong reaction.
Suddenly, I hated him.
If it weren't for him, my big brother wouldn't have died.
It was a childish, unreasonable hatred, but I hated him anyway.
All night long, I used every method I knew to torment him.
He must have been in agony, but instead of cursing me, he fell silent.
As dawn began to break, I finally felt empty and sat motionless on the floor. Suddenly, my little finger was tugged.
The hero spoke to me. “Help me escape, and I'll help you get revenge.”
The hero really did escape, and I... faked my own death.
I moved to a remote corner of a small city, hiding my name and living in fear every day.
News reached me through several intermediaries that the hero had killed his superior, reshuffled the organization with an iron fist, and become its new leader.
I was happy. My big brother's death had been avenged, and there was one less person who wanted to kill me. I couldn't pray for the last person who wanted me dead to die, so I could only pray that he'd never find me.
But my prayers went unanswered. After all those years of doing such sacred work, what a pity!
When I heard the “tap, tap” of leather shoes clicking against the floor outside, it was already too late to get up. The door opened.
The cold light from the hallway fell on the man's lean shoulders and back. The zipper of his short jacket hung casually open, revealing a black tank top that outlined the curve of his chest.
Leaning diagonally against the doorframe, the man surveyed my room and carelessly brushed his knuckles against the corner of his mouth. Then he raised his eyes and threw me a half-smiling, half-mocking look. “I've been looking for you for a long time.”
I wanted to run, but a quick glance revealed bodyguards packed in layers outside the door, so I wisely gave up the idea.
I watched as the hero slowly took off his fingerless gloves and walked toward me, then dropped to one knee just before his shadow engulfed me.
The hero held my ankle and put on my shoes for me. Looking up at me, he smiled, his breath falling between us in a suggestive line. “You're going to take responsibility for my body.”
