Synopsis
On the afternoon seven-year-old Noritoshi Kamo accidentally drained all the blood from a sparrow, he told no one. Instead, he went online to ask for help. By chance, he met a kind internet stranger named Dr. S. With the stranger's help and encouragement, Noritoshi received affirmation from someone other than his mother for the first time, and resolved to become a doctor.
On the morning he was told that he would become the heir of the Kamo Clan, eight-year-old Noritoshi watched his mother weep uncontrollably. He did not realize this was their final farewell, nor did he know that five years later, after all their twists and turns, he still wouldn't be able to say no to certain things.
As for the night he fled home in disarray, wearing a black crested kimono and hakama, people sometimes prefer to call it the beginning of the story, the hand of fate. Noritoshi Kamo, whose pockets were emptier than his face was clean, made one careless move and fell into a hero's trap. He rescued a strange man who was also on the run from home from a Level Two Negative Energy Entity, and the two set off together. On Christmas Eve that year, the moon above the snowy fields witnessed their sudden bout of pretentious literary angst. The strange man said his name was Osamu Dazai, that Yokohama was still too dangerous for him and he was scared. Would Noritoshi keep traveling with him?
Noritoshi accepted Osamu Dazai's invitation, because he knew Yokohama.
Unlike Kyoto, controlled by the Three Great Families and determined to keep tormenting Negative Energy Entities, or Tokyo, heavily armed with scientific technology and dedicated to equality between ordinary people and the superpowered, Yokohama in 2006 was a world of the gifted, synonymous with absolute freedom and chaos.
The so-called Three-Part Plan, later praised as a perfect balance, had yet to be proposed. The gifted organization known as the MAFIA had yet to meet its true leader. Everything could still change, and anything was possible. If they could just get there, living under assumed names would be easy.
At least, before meeting that black-haired quack with purple eyes, Noritoshi Kamo really thought so.
After meeting that quack, all Noritoshi Kamo wanted to say was:
To hell with Yokohama, Kyoto, and Tokyo.
And the Decay of Angels, the Guild, the Special Division for Unusual Powers; the Three Great Families, Kenjaku, Ryomen Sukuna, King of the Negative Energy Entities; the Thorns, Whyman, Wanjeno.
...There sure are a lot of people to deal with.
*
1. The world combines Jujutsu Kaisen, Bungo Stray Dogs, and Dr. Stone. Don't ask how they all got mixed together. The author is having way too much fun making things up.
2. I mainly wanted to see mysterious, high-IQ men tormenting each other in a lunatic everyday life. But after searching all of JJK, I couldn't find a single one who could be called the mastermind type. So the author had no choice but to bring out her own darling. Go play, Miss Impostor (an acronym based on Noritoshi Kamo's name, and a nickname the author is very proud of)!
3. OOC, OOC, OOC. Important things bear repeating. I watched Bungo Stray Dogs a long time ago, so the characterizations are mainly based on the anime. Noritoshi Kamo has very little screen time in the original and isn't developed much, so the author has filled in his character based on the available information. In other words, I'm making things up. The main characters who appear in this story have all been softened to varying degrees in characterization and plot, and the ending is an entirely unsurprising happy group reunion.
4. This story is basically the product of the author's lower brain. The logic is a mess, there's no main plot, the writing reads like a fever dream, and the prose is crap. Also, since everyone in the protagonist and supporting-character lists has been the author's darling at one point or another, I can't help writing all kinds of scenes between them. The relationships are as tangled as Greek mythology. The author thinks you can enjoy it as either friendship or romance, but recommends it only to fans of chaotic, morally ambiguous ships, or it might be upsetting (kneels).
5. That's about it. I'll add more if I think of anything.
Theme: Communication and empathy are among humanity's greatest virtues.
