Kamo Noritoshi Says No

On that hellish Halloween night during the Shibuya Incident, Yuji Itadori woke from unconsciousness and stared blankly at the ruins stretching out before him. Out of nowhere, he remembered the juvenile detention center where he'd experienced the first death of his life, and what the assistant supervisor outside had said.

"Our country currently has four Special Grade sorcerers: Mr. Gojo; your upperclassman, Yuta Okkotsu, a second-year at Tokyo Jujutsu High; Noritoshi Kamo, heir to the Kamo family and a second-year at Kyoto Jujutsu High; and Yuki Tsukumo, who is often away and whose whereabouts are a mystery, the only female Special Grade sorcerer."

Yuji didn't consider himself the protagonist of a Shonen Jump manga. Even if he were, he figured the author who created him probably hadn't intended for him to save the day. A 15-year-old boy didn't have the superpower to blast through an entire building with one blood-piercing click or deal 999 damage with a double-tap basic attack. But he was really worried about his teacher, Gojo. In a situation like this, it was only natural to put one's hopes in someone stronger.

But of the four Special Grades, one had just been sealed, and two were most likely overseas. The only upperclassman from the sister school who could have arrived in time had just gone home to treat his anemia after his technique went berserk. Now he sat beside Yuji, leaning back with his wide sleeves spread out as they both stared into space, his face as pale as a ghost's.

The black-haired young man, pale as a ghost, tried to comfort him. "Exorcising curses is one of the few things in the world that's simple and easy to understand, with no gray areas. You don't have to overthink it. Anyway, this field is short on people. If you want to become a jujutsu sorcerer..."

He paused and patted the boy's shoulder. "Well, that's your bad luck."

1. The premise is that Noritoshi Kamo from another world comes to Jujutsu Kaisen. He's an alternate counterpart, not an original protagonist who transmigrates.

2. There are major changes to canon. This is the streamer's requiem for the curses (not really), and it's full of all sorts of melodramatic plotlines the streamer loves, including but not limited to a made-up Kamo mother, original characters, and throwing power scaling out the window to indulge the streamer's favorite characters. Whether the story diverges from canon depends on the streamer's personal feelings at the time. For example, I didn't see this guy's later storyline where he shaves his head and renounces everything. Damn it, what happened to JJK's art in the later chapters? Does that buzz cut look good to you?

3. Extremely OOC, extremely OOC, extremely OOC. Important things are said three times. The streamer really can't stand this guy's power level and characterization. Come on, he's one of the Three Great Families, but honestly, he really doesn't cut it, if you know what I mean. (In more ways than one.) I'm not saying he can't be a mama's boy, but at least be a spectacular one, with some panache! What do you mean, the final battle's about to start and you drop out and run away? Besides, his strength is only so-so... In an era of massive power creep, before he gets a personal story highlight or a module upgrade, they come out with a superior replacement? I can't take it. How dare a launch operator go to Shibuya and the Sakurajima Colony to play Contingency Contract?

4. The streamer really loves this guy's outfits, you have no idea. Onmyoji ruined my aesthetic sense for life, I swear. Hunting robes, hunting robes, we love you. And don't you think this guy looks like a gender-swapped Reimu? The first time I saw him, with those little braids tied at his temples, I wondered if he was a shrine attendant. Then I found out the Kamo family really does have a shrine. It's ridiculous. At this point, bro, why not become a beautiful shrine maiden raised by an aristocratic clan? (What?)

There is an original character with a one-sided crush on Miss Impostor! But it's only one-sided, so this story still has no pairings. The streamer is just a poor Miss Impostor fan. In the original, this guy's relationships with everyone else are so thin that pairing him with anyone would feel like a crack ship, so I had to make up rumors about him. Give the streamer a break.
