Jade Evening Lotus Song

One pond of late lotus in Wuchu holds the fate of mist and rain.

A Jiangnan woman who crafts paper and preserves its traditional charm,

and a jade-like young gentleman, diligent and self-disciplined,

quietly come to understand one another.

But they do not know that disaster is drawing near.

Winds rise, hidden currents stir, and fate keeps them apart.

They hold back their deepest feelings, unwilling to disturb the mortal world.

With blank space, they make room to stay together; with peace, they write the rest of their lives,

hiding every tender thought amid Jiangnan's lingering mist and rain.
