A Fraud's Path to Redemption in Gotham

Mortal was once a person, but unfortunately, a literal stroke of luck sent him crashing into another world. On top of that, he discovered that his identity had changed from human to a pseudo-human.

Mortal: ...

Oh well, at least I'm still a person.

He imitated his old mannerisms, trying to use them to fit back into society. Instead, he seemed to have the opposite effect, sparking a terrifying urban legend about a "pseudo-human invasion" in Gotham City.

It wasn't like he got caught in a shootout, got turned into a bloody mess, and then staggered back to his feet. It wasn't like the Joker blew him up, and he still clamped his hands around the guy's throat. It wasn't like he got torn to pieces but did his best to put himself back together...

Damn it, he was such an inspirational young man!

The Red Hood, who really helped Mortal learn to socialize, let out a cold laugh.

Jason Todd, an utterly ordinary, helpful Gotham citizen, had recently set his sights on a strange person.

Though whether the guy was even a person was still up for debate.

After all, even though Red Hood had seen a lot, watching someone earnestly sew his own head back on was still a shock.

Still...

Since this "person" had saved him, the kind-hearted Mr. Red Hood decided to help Mortal fit into human society.

But as he kept helping...

He and Mortal ended up together.

Well, what else could that be but another way of fitting into society?
