I'm a little green snake. Five hundred years ago, I nearly got caught and made into snake wine, but a scholar traveling to the capital to take the imperial exams saved me.

I wanted to repay him, but before long the scholar fell gravely ill. There was nothing I could do but watch him die.

Five hundred years later, I had cultivated successfully and was lying on a lotus leaf, basking in the sun. By chance, I met a handsome Taoist priest. His face was unfamiliar, but his aura felt incredibly familiar.

I heard that the best way for a monster to repay a human is to offer oneself to them.

I followed him, intent on giving myself to him. I thought I would settle my karmic debt quickly, then become a little earth immortal once my cultivation was complete.

But this Taoist priest either tried to trap me in his demon-catching bag or treated me coldly every day.
