My next story is coming! Please, please, please add it to your collection! Mwah, mwah, mwah~
Cheng Jianing went to a teahouse with her girlfriends and fell in love at first sight with the new bookkeeper. She thought she'd met the man fate had chosen for her.
Pei Yu wore white and had the graceful air of the moon and a fresh breeze. He was gentle as jade and peerlessly handsome, drawing in crowds and making the teahouse's business thrive.
Cheng Jianing went to drink tea every day, fussing over him and pursuing him relentlessly. But he was hot and cold with her, alternately drawing close and pulling away, and she couldn't figure out what he was thinking.
Her father was promoted to prefect of Yangzhou, a fourth-rank official, and she had to move there with him. Though she was reluctant to leave the handsome man behind, his family was of modest means, and she really shouldn't pin all her hopes on one man. So she followed her family's arrangements and started meeting potential suitors.
Before leaving, she went to the teahouse one last time to say goodbye. She promised she wouldn't bother him again and asked him not to tell anyone he'd met her, since she was about to marry and didn't want her reputation affected.
Pei Yu's dark pupils seemed to swirl like a whirlpool. He stared at her without speaking, his nails digging into his palm, then smiled faintly at her.
Who could have expected that the marriage proposal would suddenly be called off? Her mother took her to a temple to pray for good fortune, and Cheng Jianing accidentally fell asleep in the carriage.
When she awoke, the carriage was stopped in a wooded area. Her maid and mother were nowhere to be seen, and a tall figure was sitting inside.
A hand pinched her chin, and breath scented with cedar washed over her face. His dark eyes were filled with a terrifying obsession...
"Why couldn't you wait for me?"
"Who are you going to marry? Isn't having me enough?"
"You wanted to get married, didn't you? How about I send the betrothal gifts soon?"
Then he began to cry, his eyes red and his face as delicate as jade, looking especially vulnerable.
"You were the one who came after me first..."
Cheng Jianing's back was covered in cold sweat. The sweet, angelic young man had turned into a complete lunatic. Once she realized this, she scrambled to escape, only to be carried into the Marquis's residence in a bridal sedan not long after.
On their wedding night, someone grabbed Cheng Jianing by the ankle and whispered in her ear.
"I married you."
Note: The male lead has a secret in the early part of the story, but he really is a lunatic! Run if this isn't your thing! You can insult him, but please don't insult me, thanks (。 ́︿ ̀。)
The story has lots of original settings and focuses on romance!
A sweet little story about a couple falling in love, love, love~
