"Time may spare my future, but how could it ever spare my youth?"
The year she started college, Jiang Yuhe skipped a class and met someone.
He said:
"Not bad. I knew this lecture would be boring."
"You're really good at picking which classes to skip."
He looked at her approvingly. She thought he was a lunatic, but that lunatic barged into her world just like that.
The campus was huge, and yet it was small. Eighteen-year-old Su Qingrang seemed to be everywhere: clubs, study-abroad trips, even the bar where they met for weekend dinners.
He was the unknown lead singer of a scrappy little band, and Jiang Yuhe didn't pay much attention to him at first.
But she couldn't lie to herself about the moment Su Qingrang shone while singing.
She also knew the instant her heart stirred, when the boy handed her a blueberry.
At twenty, on a breezy night atop the hill behind the south gate of Nancheng University, Su Qingrang said to her:
"Jiang Yuhe, I like you. Just like the wind on this hilltop, I'll never stop."
[The wind on the hilltop brushed her lips. She looked back at your silhouette, wishing she could sit there until dawn.]
Jiang Yuhe knew she was done for.
It seemed she'd fallen in love with Su Qingrang, that strange boy who was like a lunatic.
At twenty-four, he was a dazzling superstar, and she was an obscure admirer watching quietly from the audience.
He wanted to give up on her, and she wanted to leave him.
I've been through the lowest valleys and crossed the hills, and now I can't say I love you with an easy heart.
So do you still love me, after the night wind?
