Confession Gone Wrong

*Messy four-way love affair

Tao Xu first met Zhan Lan at a children's taekwondo studio.

She was kicked to the floor and burst into tears.

Zhan Lan took off her protective gear, looking thoroughly unimpressed. She pulled Tao Xu to her feet, then walked away coldly.

Tao Xu was a glutton for punishment, losing again and again from kindergarten all the way through university.

She never won once.

One day, Zhan Lan came to provoke her again.

Tao Xu wagged a finger.

"Sorry, I've got a date today~"

-

Zhan Lan was the girl on a pedestal, with a simple life and no romantic entanglements.

One day, the girl on a pedestal had a little too much to drink. She spoke coldly and mocked Tao Xu for failing at young love.

Tao Xu was furious. "What's wrong with you? How is university dating young love?!"

Both of them were angry as they took a taxi home, wearing cold expressions.

They'd lived across the street from each other since childhood. After Tao Xu opened her door, Zhan Lan called out to her.

Tao Xu turned around and glared at Zhan Lan, clearly annoyed.

"I like you," Zhan Lan said.

-

A friend asked Tao Xu, "Have you and Zhan Lan been fighting lately? How come you don't talk when you see each other?"

Tao Xu denied it three times over. "No. She's busy. It has nothing to do with me."

Just then, a hand came to rest lightly on her shoulder.

Tao Xu's heart skipped a beat. She turned around. Zhan Lan smiled coolly at her and sat down beside her.
