1. Yan Xing coasted through life on his family's wealth, never bothering to study. Then, overnight, he became the fake young master. His wealthy parents despised him and shipped him off to a school overseas, leaving him to fend for himself.

With no one to turn to and not a penny to his name, he stepped onto campus for the first time. Because he was scrawny and his grades were terrible, he was assigned to the lowest-tier student dorm: a cramped, crowded room shared by several people.

Siluogedun was an elite football powerhouse, a gathering place for the privileged, and its varsity team was practically worshipped on campus.

On the training field, Yan Xing watched those human-shaped beasts slam into one another on the grass. He could barely afford to eat, and his mind wandered: Are they even the same species as me?

2. Yan Xing was terrible at the art of latching onto someone powerful.

The person he picked was the varsity football team's captain, Aiden Hill.

He had no money to treat him to a meal, so all he could do was make sure Aiden noticed him.

Yan Xing started showing up everywhere Aiden went: the cafeteria, the training field, the parking lot, even outside the locker room. The only place he couldn't get into was the villa district reserved for varsity team members.

After this happened again and again, the other players started teasing him.
