The Day the City Fell, I Was Brought Before the Childhood Friend I Had Betrayed [Short Story]

Premise:

When I was fourteen, I betrayed Liang Xueyi, my childhood sweetheart, who had saved me three times.

I broke off our engagement and married Gu Huaifeng, the son of the Duke of Zhenguo and the man who had killed his father.

Just as I expected, three years later Gu Huaifeng usurped the throne and killed every powerful minister who opposed him.

My family and I were spared.

He named his new dynasty Dayun, with Yuanhua as its capital.

Three years later, Liang Xueyi led his cavalry to breach the city walls.

The day the city fell, I was brought before the childhood sweetheart I had once betrayed.
