Xia Zhi, the youngest daughter of the Xia family, was spoiled and doted on by everyone, like a princess surrounded by stars.
But she was allergic to dog hair, so she couldn't have a dog.
Back then, she waved to the little sidekick she'd picked up, trailing behind her. "A Jin, what should I do? I really want a dog. How about you be my puppy?"
The boy lowered his eyes, his hands clenched at his sides until his knuckles turned white. "Okay."
Then, overnight, the Xia family fell.
The haughty little princess was brought down into the dust, while her puppy was found by the richest man in the country and became a child of fortune.
Everyone thought Lu Jin would take revenge on her. Even Xia Zhi thought so herself. After all, she was the only person who'd ever raised the richest man's son like a dog.
She began avoiding him, pretending not to notice his gaze following her everywhere.
"Avoiding me?" After school, Lu Jin blocked her way at the entrance. Backlit, his beautiful features were impossible to look away from.
He raised a hand. Xia Zhi instinctively closed her eyes, bracing herself to be hit.
"You only know how to bully me?" He leaned close to her ear and took off his jacket to cover the graffiti on her uniform.
Then he turned around, his gaze cold as he looked at everyone else.
They were right. He was Xia Zhi's dog. So anyone who dared touch her would get bitten.
There are two things Lu Jin has never regretted in his life:
Being picked up by Xia Zhi in the snow, and becoming Xia Zhi's puppy.
"Puppy, this problem is so hard. I need a reward." Princess Xia had never had to struggle with studying before.
"Okay. What do you want?"
Xia Zhi says, "Bend down and I'll tell you."
Lu Jin obediently leans over. The moment their lips touch, he deepens the kiss.
He slowly wipes away the traces left on her lips. A faint smile curls at the corner of his mouth, taking on a strangely predatory air. "Bad behavior needs to be punished."
Xia Zhi lies in his arms and looks up at his gentle eyes. "What kind of punishment?"
"Be good." He strokes her head, his eyes darkening a little. "I'll tell you when you're older."
