There are very few things Hua Xu dislikes, and Gan Li is one of them.

Hua Xu looked down at Gan Li clinging to him, sighed, and questioned the heavens. "Can't you take this mad dog away?!"
Gan Li kept pestering Hua Xu without tiring. Eventually, as Gan Li did whatever he pleased and caused one mess after another, Hua Xu became able to clean up after him without changing expression.
Until Hua Xu saw Gan Li being held hostage by a prince of Chu atop the city tower. Suddenly, he felt that without the mad dog's racket beside him, life would be dull.
He heard Gan Li shout from the tower, "Hua Xu! I won't let anyone force you to do anything!"
Then he watched helplessly as Gan Li dragged the prince of Chu off the tower with him.
Hua Xu's world suddenly shattered into pieces.
He suddenly hated him so, so much. "Who told you to take matters into your own hands? Who told you to treat your life so carelessly? Who told you to do this for me..."
His dislike accumulated day after day, until at last he was powerless to do anything about it.
