Tea in Plum Rain Town

Rain had been falling in Meiyu Town for three days. After wiping down the last table in her teahouse, Shen Yuan, the proprietress, figured she wouldn't have any customers today either.

That was until a man in a blue-gray robe pushed open the door.

"Proprietress, a pot of Biluochun, please."

Xie Lin was particular about his tea, gentle in his speech, and when he smiled, he looked even more beautiful than the misty rains of Jiangnan. He would sit for half a day at a time, and kept coming for three whole months. Everyone in town said the wealthy tea merchant had fallen for the young widow.

Shen Yuan didn't dare entertain that talk. She was the last princess of the previous dynasty. Simply surviving long enough to open a teahouse was already a stroke of incredible luck.

Until one night, a man in black scaled the wall, and Xie Lin appeared out of nowhere, door bar in hand.

He said, "Either I stay here to protect you, or you move in with me."

She chose him.

But after they married, she found a painting in a secret compartment in his study. The girl in it looked remarkably like her, and the corner bore the words "Princess Yongning."

And the man who had promised to protect her for the rest of her life was none other than the regent of the current dynasty.

Which was his true face, his schemes or his sincere affection?

Amid the misty rains of Jiangnan, the story of this little teahouse was only just beginning to brew.

Premise: Cherishing the simple happiness of an ordinary life.
