3. An Mingyu discovers that the bartender she cannot find is actually her junior at the same university: the top student in the biology department, soon to join a laboratory funded by An's company.
She taps the photo of the girl smiling brightly on the campus bulletin board and murmurs, "Xu Xi."
"Found you."
4. In the third month of An Mingyu and Xu Xi's relationship, one of An's friends calls and invites her to the bar.
An Mingyu refuses, saying she has to spend time with her girlfriend.
Over the phone, she hears her friend chuckle. "Still with that one?"
"Don't tell me you've really fallen for her."
That night, An Mingyu breaks up with Xu Xi.
Facing Xu Xi, whose eyes have reddened, she lifts the woman's chin and smiles as she hands her a check. "Your breakup fee."
Her beautiful, sweet, gentle girlfriend asks through her tears, "Sis, don't you love me anymore?"
An Mingyu only strokes Xu Xi's cheek and says softly, "I know you're the sensible one."
"Don't come after me. You can do that, right?"
5. An Mingyu is kidnapped.
Her kidnapper does not want money. She only wants An Mingyu's love.
An Mingyu does not believe anyone could love her.
But after Xu Xi keeps her confined, An Mingyu starts to feel that Xu Xi might really love her.
6. Until one day, An Mingyu waits at home for Xu Xi to return. She wants to say they can try again, that she does not want to break up anymore.
She wants to say, I think I really do like you.
But Xu Xi's face is cold as she unlocks the chain around An Mingyu's wrist.
An Mingyu hears Xu Xi say flatly, "An Mingyu, you can go."
She realizes she is trembling and instinctively asks, "Why?"
Xu Xi seems to find the question laughable. The love she had seen in the woman's eyes day and night has vanished.
"Was the bet fun, An Mingyu?"
"Was my love worth even one meal to you, President An?"
7. Xu Xi has known about An Mingyu for a long time. She knows she is promiscuous, and that she has no heart.
Xu Xi does not care about An Mingyu's past. She only wants her future to belong to her.
When Xu Xi notices An Mingyu has become dependent on her,
she knows it is time to break up.
