Ning Buyi was born without a spiritual bone and was taken in and raised by a down-and-out sect.

Ning Buyi didn't understand. Not until he was trapped in a deep pool in the Chishui Secret Realm, at death's door, and the divine edict rescued him with a sword and kissed him in front of everyone.

Ning Buyi was stunned.

As the first person in the three realms to ascend, a thousand years ago the divine edict had no choice but to use its own body to fill the Void Abyss. It never expected that, a thousand years later, a junior from the sect would release its soul.

This person had no spiritual roots, yet he had become its fated Dao companion.

The divine edict thought the whole thing absurd. It had no magic power at the moment, and even gathering spiritual energy was a problem, let alone the impending tribulation clouds and the risk of the Void Abyss breaking open again at any moment.

And yet the divine edict could only gather spiritual energy when it was by his side.

The divine edict pinned him to the bed. "Naturally, cultivating."

The divine edict: "I'm both your master and your Dao companion. Dual cultivation is good for your physical and mental health, so we have to make the most of it."

Ning Buyi rubbed his lower back. "Even so, it can't be every few days..."

The divine edict understood again. "I see. So you want seven days and seven nights?"

One day, Ning Buyi complained that the divine edict had no self-control.

The divine edict lowered its eyes. "You're so slow on the uptake. If I don't show you some affection, when will you ever understand?"

Ning Buyi stared blankly. "Understand what?"
