Miss Landlady

Ten-year age gap, older woman and younger puppy romance

Short, sweet story

Younger freelance illustrator x older landlady

A county-town story

At twenty-seven, Xu Cheng disregarded everyone's advice, resolutely quit her job in a major city, and returned to her hometown county to care for her critically ill mother in the hospital.

For convenience, Xu Cheng rented a place near the hospital. Her landlady, Song Jin, was a middle-aged woman who had retained her charm: gentle and gracious, with an elegant air. It seemed she was also raising a seven-year-old daughter on her own.

Song Jin was warm and treated her kindly. Xu Cheng sympathized with how hard it was for her to be a single mother, and looked after her in turn. They lived one floor apart and occasionally exchanged greetings.

Life went on peacefully until one day, Song Jin got drunk and went to the wrong door. When she unexpectedly knocked on Xu Cheng's door, Xu Cheng watched as the usually graceful and composed woman let go of her reserve, cheeks flushed, and collapsed into her arms...

At that moment, her heart was inexplicably stirred. Having been single her entire life, she had a feeling.

Everything seemed to be heading in a rather strange direction...

Both are each other's first and only, happy ending

Song Jin's daughter is not her biological child
