A gloomy, beautiful transmigrated man VS an honest, half-deaf native widow
Synopsis: When her opportunistic relatives came demanding the property her late husband had left behind, Cui Xinzhen only learned, upon receiving their separation agreement, that her husband had made plans long ago to keep her from being implicated in his death.
She had been removed from the household register, so she had no choice but to hand everything over. Fortunately, her young brother-in-law fought tooth and nail to secure a plot of land, giving her a way to survive.
That day, the boy was only eight years old, barely reaching her waist. He raised his handsome, fair face and gestured with his bright black eyes, asking if she would leave.
Heartbroken, Xinzhen covered the wound on his forehead with a handkerchief. Tears streaming down her face, she shook her head. “No. In this life, I belong to my family while I live, and my soul will belong to them when I die.”
She made the promise with unwavering conviction, and the boy smiled.
In the years that followed, they depended on each other. She watched him grow more and more striking with age. With his bold, unconventional ideas, he not only opened a shop in the capital, but also became the youngest official in the imperial court, with a brilliant future ahead of him.
She just never expected that one day he would lock her inside his manor.
The handsome boy, once so warm and gentle, gazed at her with dark eyes. Like a lustful man begging for love, the corners of his eyes red, he kissed her damp lashes with a trembling breath, his hand tracing her body inch by inch as he asked,
“Zhenniang, am I not good enough? Who put the idea in your head to leave? The world outside is so dangerous. Who’s trying to hurt you?”
“No, no…”
Her pupils went unfocused, and her voice was hoarse.

On the day he graduated from middle school, Yong Yujing opened his eyes to find himself in an unfamiliar dynasty. He had been born into a loving family, with an older brother to protect him and parents who doted on him. He had lived a wonderful life, even watching his brother get married.
But life had other plans. A disaster took his parents, his brother fell gravely ill, and no medicine could save him. His relatives watched hungrily from the sidelines. After his brother died, they descended like a pack of wolves, ready to take everything. Terrified, he still threw himself forward, fighting like a stray dog guarding its food to reclaim the land deed. Then the door opened.
A woman in snow-white mourning clothes stumbled toward him, tears still on her face.
She was his brother’s widow, the sister-in-law he had called that for years.
His sister-in-law was honest, proper, and deeply traditional. At first, he truly saw the woman ten years his senior as a mother or an older sister.
But later, when she said she wanted to leave, he smiled as usual and asked her why.
Under his smiling gaze, she couldn’t answer. In the end, she said she would think about it.
But that night, he thought about it for a long time, too.
The world outside was so dangerous. His widowed sister-in-law was honest, proper, and hard of hearing. If she left him, this feudal society would devour her without leaving a bone behind.
She had said that she belonged to her family in life, and her soul would belong to them in death.
He had the same surname, Yong.

① The title says it all.
② The heroine has never been with anyone; the hero has.
③ There’s a ten-year age gap. I’m tired from saving up a new story, so I impulsively started a younger-man romance. I wanted to write a beautiful young man and a big-sister heroine with a motherly aura. Give it a try if that sounds appealing.
④ The heroine is a native of this world with traditional values. She’s the sort who blushes after barely managing a few words when she wants to argue. She runs a shop, but her original nature doesn’t change, and she’s also half-deaf. That will improve later. If you read on, please take it as part of the premise. If this heroine isn’t for you, please don’t complain about her. Let’s keep the comments friendly. Thanks!
I thought about her name for a long time. Cui feels beautiful and lovely, like jade or emerald. Xin gives the sense of working diligently and enduring hardship. Zhen means steadfast, constant, and upright. Those characters suit the era, and the more I thought about the heroine, the more they seemed to fit. The name was also chosen by my readers on Weibo. I love it!
⑤ The hero was transmigrated into the body of a newborn. He was relatively normal at first, but, well, he arrived in this world so young that he was somewhat assimilated by the era. He’s sickly, delicate, and sweet on the outside but ruthless underneath. He’ll use deadly force. If he didn’t have some tricks up his sleeve, he wouldn’t have climbed so high at such a young age. He’s definitely not as sunny as other transmigrators.
The character was inspired by the second male lead in the dark, obsessive story I wrote before last.
⑥ The early pacing is on the slow side, with a bit of a farming-story feel, but it gradually moves away from that. There may be a little political scheming, just a tiny bit (holding up the very tip of a thumb). It’s mainly a two-person romance, driven by their relationship, without any huge plot twists. I can’t be sure how it’ll turn out, but I’ll do my best.
⑦ The cover uses a template.
⑧ Blurb drafted on May 31, 2026. Saved on Weibo.

The Honest Man and the Evil Infant [Nonhuman]
Synopsis: “Mommy, mommy, mommy…”
Lately, I’ve often been hallucinating. Somewhere no one else can hear, I hear someone’s lips parting as the word “Mommy” slowly slips off their tongue. A long, slender tongue seems to lick my earlobe as it emerges from their lips, leaving it wet.
So I made an appointment with the best psychiatrist in the city of Jing.
The doctor sat across from me, carefully reviewing my records. He looked up, adjusted his glasses, and asked, “According to your file, there’s no family history of mental illness, and you haven’t experienced any major emotional upheavals recently… Ma’am? Are you listening? Ma’am?”
The doctor questioned me for a long time before I finally heard what he was saying. The longing in my eyes almost spilled out, turning into a few tears that could easily be licked away. I begged him, “Doctor, please help me. Something is really wrong with me.”
The doctor adjusted his glasses again. “Then tell me what’s wrong.”
I gazed deeply at the doctor and said, “I see a long-haired man wearing a tight, all-black outfit. He smiles at me. His eyes are a ghostly green, but there’s no light in them. They’re like unpolished emeralds, utterly bewitching. His exposed skin is deathly pale, as if he’d spent years underwater and just crawled out. His hair is astonishingly thick and long. He has long brows, narrow eyes, thin red lips, and beneath the corners of his eyes…”
Before I could finish, the doctor interrupted. “Is it only his appearance? What is he doing?”
I glanced at those dark, captivating eyes and swallowed. “Right now, he’s sitting on your head, one long leg crossed over the other. He’s bent over, holding my head in his hands. His fingers must be pressing against my ears. His stunning features are twisted with jealousy, and he’s sticking out a thin, sharp, bright red tongue to wrap around my eyelashes as he speaks.”
The man speaking was so beautiful he seemed haunted. He was the grown-up version of the baby I’d found before.
His long brows drooped in a pitiful curve. He said gloomily, “Mommy, I’m your flesh and blood, your very own child, your only… lover. Why do you want to leave me? Was I not good enough? Come home. I’ll be good.”
The doctor couldn’t hear him or see how excited he was. I was the only one who stood rigid, afraid to even breathe.
Because he was very good. Too good for me to handle.
