The Osmanthus Branch Edict: Rewriting Fate as a Cannon-Fodder Princess

After staying up all night to finish reading the storybook The Osmanthus Laureate, a modern office worker woke up in its pages as Zhu Zhaoning, the spoiled and reckless Princess Yongxi. In the original story, she was infatuated with the top scholar, mistreated her consort Yuwen Huai, and ultimately died during a palace coup, abandoned by everyone.

With a new soul in her body, she kept a low profile and resolved to rewrite her doomed fate. She let go of her obsession in front of everyone, kept her distance from the original story's leads, took the initiative to mend her relationship with her consort, and quietly made amends for the way she had treated him before.

Under the surface, the capital was in turmoil. When the palace coup struck as it had in the original story, Yuwen Huai, whom she had once treated coldly, still risked his life to take an arrow for her. After surviving life and death together, they gradually fell for each other and broke through the barriers of the past.

Rumors that they might divorce stirred up fresh trouble. After suspicion and probing, the joyful news of a child on the way sealed their future together. She shed her arrogance and found a true love. The princess whose life had once been fated to end in tragedy finally found peaceful days and a happy family.
