[Western Crossover] Imperfect You and Me

[A Reid/Original Female Character fanfic based on the TV series Criminal Minds. There are several other Criminal Minds short fanfics in my collection. Feel free to check them out.]

Reid was only filling in as a favor as a consultant for a science fiction movie, but by a twist of fate, he ended up taking on the lead role as well.

During a break in filming, Clara, the female lead, blew smoke rings and mused, "If parallel universes really exist, and there's a perfect version of me out there, I'd kill her and take her place."

What did Reid say then?

He said that rejecting an imperfect version of yourself meant rejecting who you were now. He also said that being real mattered more than being perfect.

But Reid never imagined that just minutes later, he would step into a parallel world and come face-to-face with his perfect self: optimistic and cheerful, healthy, with both parents alive and a thriving career.

The perfect Reid lived in a perfect house. He was the only light in the world.

It hurt Reid's eyes to look at him.

Clara kept blowing smoke rings, nonchalant as ever, and whispered temptingly in his ear, "Want to kill him? I can help you."

Reading notes:

1. This is a short story.

2. Inspired by the movie Coherence. I absolutely love it, and I could come up with a thousand spin-off ideas about it.

3. Comments are open, provided you bookmark this story.

Theme: Our imperfect selves are the truest versions of who we are
