After dying in battle, Ji Feizhou transmigrates into the modern world as a washed-up idol whose career is marred by same-sex dating rumors and terrible acting.
His assistant brings him a script. "Um... Brother Zhou, Sister Wei says you need to take the role seriously. Don't waste the company's last chance for you."
Ji Feizhou wonders how he can act when he's never studied it.
He opens the script and sees:
An adaptation of the palace-intrigue novel The Quest for the Throne. He'll play the young general Ji Feizhou, who dies for his country.
Ji Feizhou: ?
Then he looks again.
The movie star playing the male lead seems to be the prince he secretly loved in his previous life.
Ji Feizhou: !
He sits up straight, trying to sound composed. "When can we start filming?"
*
Before filming began, Yan Huan's manager repeatedly warned him to watch out for Ji Feizhou.
Manager: "He debuted on a boy band survival show and harassed his teammates. A private Weibo account of his was dug up, full of raunchy posts. And now he's bought his way onto this production, clearly gunning for you!"
Just then, a photo of Ji Feizhou, wearing a full face of heavy makeup and blonde hair, gazing lovestruck at Yan Huan's giant billboard in the middle of the night, started trending.
Yan Huan frowned coldly. "I'll be careful."
But once filming began, Ji Feizhou had black hair and a tall, straight posture. He was disciplined and courteous, never taking his eyes off the task at hand.
He took his phone out and put it away eight hundred times, too embarrassed to ask for Yan Huan's contact details. A week later, he was still writing a five-hundred-word essay to request his friendship.
Unable to watch any longer, Yan Huan leaned closer to his phone. "I'll scan yours, Teacher Ji."
"Okay."
Ji Feizhou's face turned faintly red as he calmly opened...
His Alipay QR code.

Later, as the show became a huge hit, Ji Feizhou's young general became a breakout role, reviving his career. He even appeared on a travel variety show, where he made peace with a former teammate he'd once been rumored to date, and the two rekindled their friendship.
His manager finally relaxed. "Looks like he really isn't interested in you."
Yan Huan: "..."
That couldn't possibly be true.
The movie star turned and walked toward the production crew, his face expressionless.
Not long afterward...

P.S. In their previous life, the love interest transmigrated into a book first. He was the prince the protagonist secretly loved. After returning, he forgot about it. He'll regain his memories later.
