Yu Yinyou spent the National Day holiday going all over the place, without doing a single bit of homework. On the last day of the break, she finally resolved to catch up. But she was so lazy that at half past two in the morning, she still hadn’t finished. Unable to keep her eyes open any longer, she lay down and fell asleep.
When she woke, she found herself in a strange place, though it didn’t feel entirely unfamiliar. Everything she saw seemed familiar, as if she had lived there for a long time.
She stared blankly around the room, strange yet familiar, and didn’t hear anything outside until a maid opened the door.
“Miss Yinyou, the Demon Lord wants to see you.”
Only then did Yu Yinyou look up, dazed. The maid felt familiar to her, and she instinctively said the maid’s name.
At some point that day, a voice spoke silently into her ear: “This is your past life. Don’t let him suffer any heartbreak.”
Then it vanished without a trace. No matter how Yu Yinyou called out, the voice did not answer.
Half an hour after it disappeared, all the memories of her past life flooded into her mind.
She revisited her past life and identified the man who had often appeared in it: Qi Shihang.
After watching her entire past life, she gave a bitter smile, and a tear slipped quietly down her cheek.
.
She followed the events of her past life without changing anything.
Until the very last moment of that life, when she held Qi Shihang and spoke softly.
“Qi Shihang, did you know? I actually transmigrated back from this life. I know how it ends...”
“Don’t talk to me about past and present lives. To me, you’re just Yu Yinyou.”
A little extra scene:
“Miss, I can see a tribulation in your future. Your bond with him hasn’t ended.”
“A Taoist priest’s words can be trusted?”
Years later, Yu Yinyou remembered that scene and felt so embarrassed that she apologized to the priest in her heart.
The extra scene will be written as a bonus chapter!
Reader’s Guide:
1. The heroine, Yu Yinyou, transmigrates back to her past life. This is mentioned several times in the blurb. I originally didn’t want to change it, but since it’s connected to another book in this series, A Thousand Years, I changed the tag to Past and Present Lives.
2. The story closely matches the song Tribulation. You can listen while reading, or give it a listen before you start.
3. The hero, Qi Shihang, is the second son of the Qi family. He has an older brother and three younger brothers. They each have their own books, and apart from Qi Shihang, all of his brothers’ love interests are men. If you want to read about Qi Shihang’s brothers, please pay close attention to this note about who their love interests are, if that bothers you!
4. The writing is awkward and my vocabulary is poor, so if you like beautifully written prose, please don’t read this!
Theme: The tribulation may pass, but the bond remains
