People born under the Mao Star are slaves.
This is an "eternal truth" in the Twin Star System.
The Ran Star rules, and the Mao Star serves. Mao Star people are born carrying obsidian, destined to be absorbed into the blood of their Ran Star masters one day.
Senya doesn't believe in fate.
She carries the blood of the war god Jiali clan. With her deadly fighting skills, she got into Pace Academy, hoping to stand out in the selection and leave Mao Star with a Ran Star noble household to find her only relative.
But fate had other plans. On the eve of the selection, Senya accidentally formed a bond with a beggar.
The moment she lost her obsidian, she even considered ending her life. But the silver-haired, blue-eyed beggar leaned down and told her:
The servant contract, which legend says lasts until death, can actually be broken.
But to break it, Senya would first have to do something for him.

Muka, a Ran Star native, is the last surviving descendant of the forgotten Lando family.
He bears a blood feud and has spent years concealing his identity to restore his family's reputation.
Only three days after he risked everything to smuggle himself onto Mao Star, he accidentally formed a bond with a young woman from Mao Star.
She wore her smoky teal hair in a braid and was a head shorter than him.
Yet when she fought, she was like a wild donkey let loose, each punch landing hard and each swing of her blade slicing through the air.
Muka had a sudden idea.
He decided to make the best of the situation and team up with this war goddess to pull off something big.

After many twists and turns, Senya finally managed to find her footing on Ran Star.
She got her wish and became a servant to a noble household. She watched countless sunsets at the Golden Wheel Palace and finally discovered that the so-called "born to be slaves" was nothing but an outright lie.
No one knew she had formed a bond with the same person twice.
They crossed mountains and rivers and spent countless nights together, but when they broke the bond, they swore to forget each other and never meet again.
People born under the Mao Star are slaves. There is only one person Senya refuses to call master.
Only after they parted did she belatedly realize that he had never considered her a servant either.
"The first time was an accident, the second was a deal. What about this time?"
In the blazing Golden Wheel Hall, the saw-edged sword in Muka's hand still dripped with blood.
"Senya."
His icy blue eyes fixed on her as he asked hoarsely:
"This time, will you come with me?"
Before You Read
■ The worldbuilding is loose and the setting mixes all sorts of things: some people fly spaceships while others ride carriages, beastfolk live alongside nobles, elders and priests are everywhere, and only the heroine's bloodline can overpower everyone else.
■ 1v1, two powerful leads, a slight ensemble cast, serious plot-driven story, and a sweet romance between two miserable little melons.
■ Planned opening in November. Currently building up a backlog of chapters and readers. It will probably be a medium-to-long novel.
Theme: Chase, fly, and dance.
