Moonlight Diary

A murder takes place in Anlin City. Qin Xiyue, a singer who has become a national sensation, falls to her death one night while alone. As people mourn her, they speculate about the reason for her fall, and public opinion erupts.

Rookie criminal investigator Song Qihan is sent on her first assignment. At the scene, she finds a yellowed diary that records Qin Xiyue's dark past and a life spent struggling to survive.

When Song Qihan wakes up, she has traveled twelve years into the past. Wearing her school uniform, she stands outside Anlin No. 6 High School. In a shadowy alley ahead, a frail girl lies on the ground in disarray as several thugs pull her hair and kick and punch her.

Shocked, Song Qihan puts her criminal-investigation skills to use and beats the thugs until they flee in terror. She bends down to help the girl up, but freezes when she sees the girl's delicate, beautiful face, streaked with tears.

It's sixteen-year-old Qin Xiyue.

Song Qihan is certain that fate sent her back to high school so she can start investigating from the beginning and solve this major case.

So she stays by Qin Xiyue's side every day, never leaving her alone, not even when she sleeps or goes to the bathroom. Along the way, she repeatedly drives off the endless stream of bad guys and rescues her from danger time and again.

But before she can solve the case, Qin Xiyue's gaze grows more and more strange. Finally, one drunken night, the now-grown Qin Xiyue unbuttons her shirt in front of her, slips into her arms with a woman's softness, and lifts her head to press her lips to Song Qihan's.

She whispers, “Song Qihan, I love you.”

One night together, then several more. Song Qihan goes from confusion and helplessness to falling deeply in love.

So she decides that she will not only solve the case, but also make sure Qin Xiyue gets through that night safely

and lives on.
