Capital City’s Fiery Young Lady vs. the Small-Town Cold, Sharp-Tongued Guy
Small-town fiction | Bittersweet healing | A couple who love to butt heads
After her college entrance exams, Nie Jin was banished by her own parents to a remote little town so obscure it barely made the map. Even getting to the town’s market meant changing buses three times.
Here, almost everyone treated the young lady from the capital like royalty.
But one person was the exception: Feng Lin.
A boy who might not even graduate high school, he ran a hardware store. With no parents, he lived alone in town like a weed.
Normally, Nie Jin wouldn’t have spared someone like him a second glance.

But fate had other plans. The more she looked down on him, the more he seemed determined to provoke her.
After one of their clashes, Nie Jin found herself at a disadvantage.
The man pinned her hands and stroked her cheek, the corners of his eyes lifting as he spoke with a wicked grin:
"Nie Jin, I want you to treat me differently from everyone else."

No one expected Nie Jin to go abroad to study after summer vacation. On the day she left town, Feng Lin was the only person missing from the crowd that came to see her off.
Nie Jin thought she would never have anything to do with that small-town man again.
Until a blizzard hit London and she returned to her apartment after class.
When the apartment door opened, the man swept in with the wind and snow, cold clinging to him, and kissed her without a word.
By the fireplace, Nie Jin was so tired she could barely move, a sheen of sweat on her skin.
The man stroked her smooth back, his gaze unreadable.
"So heartless. You ran off to a place this far away without a word, and I had to search everywhere for you."
No one knows how long the snow fell that night in London, except Feng Lin.
