A poor, resilient, stubborn college girl vs. a calculating, unruly, dangerously obsessive benefactor
Seven-year age gap | A benefactor romance | The powerful one bows to love | Rekindled love | An old flame reignited
Shen Huaiji rules over Huaicheng. He's a leading figure in the business world, ruthless and unpredictable, and everyone knows it.
Chang Ning is just a model student from a mountain village, whose education he sponsored.
After the college entrance exams, she made her way to Huaicheng to continue her studies. It was at a thank-you event for the scholarship recipients that she first met the legendary benefactor.

Her benefactor treated her wonderfully, but he wanted to control everything.
He even took issue with her talking to the boys in her class. In her innocence, Chang Ning asked for the first time, without thinking:
“But Dad said I could date once I got to college.”
The man's gaze dimmed where he sat on the sofa, and the air around him turned icy.
“Chang Ning, do you want to date that boy?”
She bit her lower lip, unable to answer, while the man pressed closer, until she was against his scorching body.
Shen Huaiji's breath brushed her ear. His voice sounded both coaxing and seductive:
“If you're really lonely, Ningning, you'd be better off with me than with him.”

They got together on a whim, but their breakup sent shockwaves through Huaicheng's social circles.
In the third year after leaving Shen Huaiji, Chang Ning followed his example and began sponsoring students who were once as hard up as she had been.
After dinner with one of her scholarship students, Chang Ning was walking through the corridor she always took home when a man used the dim light to pull her into his arms.
Mad with jealousy, he forced the words out through clenched teeth:
“He doesn't look at you innocently.”
Chang Ning struggled to escape his hold, giving as good as she got:
“Do you think everyone is as filthy as you?”
The man seemed hit where it hurt. He gave a self-mocking laugh against the hollow of her neck.
“Ningning, I am filthy. So filthy that I haven't stopped dreaming about you, day or night.”
Since she wanted a love that would stand the test of time, may she have peace and happiness year after year.
