Yukimura, the Little Bird Likes You

Qian Shi was the source of the superpowers in the Saiki family. She signed a contract with the Dimensional Witch, trading long years of labor for the wish to "become an ordinary person."

The day her wish came true, Qian Shi opened her eyes with eager anticipation and saw a body covered in fluffy feathers.

She'd turned into a flowerpecker?!

"Yuko! I wanted to become an ordinary person!"

"A person--!!!"

"Do you even know what a 'person' is?!"

The good news: her senses of taste, touch, and smell had returned. A young boy took her in and named her "Ruri." He fed and cared for her.

The bad news: the boy looked sweet on the outside but was dark inside, and he really loved playing with birds ⩌⤚⩌

As Rikkai's "team pet," she perched on the Child of God and watched the boy pour his heart into the game.

Qian Shi was so moved she cried: Life as an ordinary bird is wonderful. Being enslaved by that jerk Yuko for thousands of years was worth it.

It would be even better if she could become human.

She watched a Super Saiyan on the court pierce a black hole in space, only to be knocked back by a pirate captain.

Perched on Yukimura's shoulder, Qian Shi puffed up into a ball of fluff. "Chirp chirp chirp chirp squeak!"

Is this still tennis? Is this science? Is this even remotely reasonable?! (°ー°〃)

She thought nothing could top that. Then a white-haired man with a blindfold, the yokai of Hachiman, and a talking black lump of coal all showed up one after another...

Qian Shi: ⩌ - ⩌

Yuko! What kind of labor dispatch is this now?!

Mokona, her familiar, rolled out of nowhere and announced, "Qian Shi, Miss Yuko says this is 'beneficial reemployment'! Just collect all seventy-eight cards, and you can become human."

Qian Shi bristled and pecked furiously at Mokona. "Cheep cheep cheep!!"

(Translation: You want this benefit? And by the way, get your multiplication tables right, will you?!)
