Cherry Blossoms and Lies

Another story in the same series. It's a long one, so come on in!

[Realistic setting x three-sugar sweetness]

When they first met, Hoshino Ayano dumped Fuji in front of the whole school, saying she liked his younger brother.

When they met again, she apologized guiltily and said the breakup had just been something she blurted out while half asleep.

Fuji believed her and smiled as he played along.

Only later did he understand that Hoshino Ayano truly meant it when she said she loved him most,

but her reason for breaking up with him had been a lie.

[Content warning] Bad ending. A painful coming-of-age story.

[Please note] There are plenty of sweet stories in this series. This one is just a temporary lapse, so please don't attack the author.

Theme: The eternal "unfinished" leaves a deeper mark than the "finished".
