Zhao Anmi works several jobs a day and lives frugally, spending her free time hunting for secondhand bargains on an online marketplace. A local seller suggests meeting in person, and Zhao Anmi gladly agrees to save on shipping.
The narrow lanes twist and turn. Following the map, she nearly gets lost.
Just as she turns to head back, she spots Xie Zhili, whom she hasn't seen in days, standing nearby like a ghost. His dark eyes lock onto her, and the corner of his mouth curls up. "There you are, little sis."

Zhao Anmi was six when she first met Xie Zhili.
Her handsome older brother wasn't much of a talker. When their parents took them on a cable car ride, she clung tightly to his hand.
At eighteen, in the entryway, Xie Zhili held onto her hand just as tightly as he had when they were children.
He lifted his eyes and asked coolly, "You read my diary."
She pulled free. "Creep."
Only later did Zhao Anmi learn that Xie Zhili had deliberately dropped the diary where she would find it.
Everything had changed.

Zhao Anmi had been able to hear the voice of God since she was little.
The atheist Xie Zhili stopped making cruel remarks.
