Synopsis
Bai Yusheng wakes up in an old theater.
He doesn't remember who he is, where he is, or how many times he has seen those deep blue eyes. Mu Chao stands on the stage, his hands cold, but the way he looks at Bai Yusheng makes it seem as though he has been watching him for a very, very long time.
Later, he learns the truth: it isn't that Mu Chao has been watching him for a long time. He has been waiting for years.
Ever since the day Bai Yusheng moved to Mu Village at four, ever since he crouched in the courtyard and sketched the outline of that strange boy, ever since he shared his first piece of candy, they had been waiting for each other.
"What will our ending be?" Bai Yusheng asks him. "Go on ahead. Don't look back. I'll stay here. I won't follow."
The river is full of lanterns. So bright, so bright. "...Don't leave me behind." Looking at Mu Chao's dim lantern, he unhesitatingly blows out the one in his own hand, too.
"Wherever you are, that's where I'll be." The two extinguished lanterns sink side by side to the riverbed, yet they look more beautiful than any light.
Mm... I just wrote whatever came to mind. It's very strange (hard to judge...). Just have fun reading it (awkward smile). It's mostly about the main characters, with almost no supporting cast, and it's not very long. I didn't want to write a long story, so the instances may feel a little tightly packed and move rather quickly.
Purpose: Stay true to your heart
