Dark currents swirl through the backstreets of Nancheng. Thugs run rampant around the train station, night-market food streets, and bars, and the bullying of the elderly, the weak, women, and children is all too common.
Yang Dan, a student in the Latin dance department at Nancheng University, is breathtakingly beautiful and seems gentle and reserved, but she hides her true abilities. She is the cherished daughter of Nancheng's richest family, holds a taekwondo black belt, is skilled in both southern and northern Chinese martial arts, and is an exceptional unarmed fighter.
She refuses to take over her family's publicly listed conglomerate, worth hundreds of billions, and insists on founding Nancheng Yangming Security Company. Becoming a protector of the common people, she repeatedly steps in to punish street thugs and bullies. But in doing so, she threatens the interests of the criminal forces that have controlled Nancheng for years, and danger closes in at every turn.
Young criminal investigator Zhang Jie is meticulous and a formidable fighter, working on the front lines of grassroots investigations. During a deadly ambush, he risks his life to save Yang Dan when she's surrounded, binding their fates together.
One competition crisis follows another. Yang Dan competes in national Latin dance, taekwondo, and traditional martial arts tournaments. Every event conceals malicious traps, deliberate frame-ups, and backroom schemes, bringing one crisis after another. With courage and sheer skill, she rises to the top and wins three championships.
As Zhang Jie investigates a series of vicious crimes, he repeatedly faces ambushes by criminals armed with knives and clubs, coming close to death several times. Thanks to his many distinguished achievements, he is promoted to captain of the criminal investigation squad ahead of schedule.
After countless battles fought side by side, Yang Dan and Zhang Jie fall for each other, confirm their relationship, and become engaged. But the criminal forces, backed into a corner, retaliate wildly, staging repeated raids and disturbances. Both their engagement banquet and wedding become battlegrounds.
Yang Dan's father and brothers safely inherit the family business, and the whole family becomes her steadfast support. In the end, the police and the public join forces, laying plans and outsmarting their enemies until every criminal gang is uprooted. Peace finally returns to Nancheng, and after overcoming countless hardships, the two are finally together.
